How the Central Parishes are involved in the community.

St. Vincent De Paul

The aim of the society is to provide a means whereby members can practice Christianity by loving their neighbour in the person of the needy.

The Centre – conducts a shop in Normanby Street, Warragul which is staffed by volunteers.

The Conference – members of the Conference visit people to offer support and assistance.

Volunteers are always welcome.

Pastoral Care and Home Visitation

This program aims to reach out to Catholic parishioners in the community on a regular basis and to assist people in their various needs. Volunteers are always welcome.

This group is trying to meet new people in the parishes and if you have been in Warragul and Drouin for a short time, or even a couple of years and don't know many people, please make contact and you will be incluxded in the next social event.

Youth Group

This group caters in 3 groups for the young people from both primary and secondary school offering social and spiritual activities. Lifeteen take an active role in the planning of regular Youth Masses.

St. Joseph’s Parish Playgroup

The playgroup is designed for children who are not yet attending school.

Playgroup is held in the multi purpose room at St. Joseph’s School on Monday mornings after School assembly. Parents are invited to bring their pre school children for a cuppa and a friendly chat. Children take part in activities.

St. Ita’s Parish Playgroup

The playgroup is designed for children who are not yet attending school.

Playgroup is held in the multi purpose room at St. Ita’s School on Friday morning at 9.30 a.m. Parents are invited to bring their pre school children for a cuppa and a friendly chat. Children take part in activities.

Catholic Women’s League

This organisation of Catholic women meet monthly. They are involved in educational and charitable work. The League takes a special interest in social questions of our time.

Knights of the Southern Cross

This group of men meet regularly to foster the Christian way of life. They conduct and support educational, charitable, religious and social welfare work, as well as encouraging social and intellectual activities among its members.

Passionist Family Groups

Family Groups create an extended family atmosphere within the community and are open to everyone. Our focus is on people caring for, loving and accepting each other.

The aims are:

  • To get to know other members of the Parish
  • To support each other sharing each others joys and sorrows and so building the Christian Community as in the early Church
